Product Description We manufacture the 3M Finesse-it Buffing Pad - White Open Cell Foam to provide the most aggressive finishing action in the 3M Finesse-it foam pad line and is designed to be used with coarser polishes, such as Finesse-it Finishing Material Easy Clean-Up, to effectively remove sanding scratches. It is ideal for polishing automotive OEM, marine, and aerospace coatings. From the Manufacturer The 3M Finesse-it Buffing Pad - White Open Cell Foam can also be used in the 3M Finesse-it Trizact Paint Repair System for AOEM paint and clear coats. These buffing pads feature a convolute face to minimize heat buildup and provide more contact surface than flat pads. The white, open-cell pads are beveled to prevent the attachment area from contacting the coating surface in corners and on contoured surfaces. The pads are designed for use with the 3M Hookit attachment system for quick pad mounting and removal and to hold the pad securely in place during use. Hookit buffing pads conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on rotary or random orbital tools, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the life of the pad. Foam pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads. They normally operate at higher RPMs than wool pads, relying on a combination of cutting and heat buildup to slightly melt the surface coating and remove fine scratches, swirl marks, and surface marring. Foam pads range in abrasive levels determined by its softness and the cell size of the holes; the larger the hole, the more aggressive the pad. "Closed cell" pads are the least aggressive type. You can use these foam buffing pads in conjunction with polishes and are suitable to use with rotary and random orbital tools.
