Composite is real wood veneer that has been dyed and cut in a manner that produces clean, consistent, defect free sheets. Grain runs longer direction. Very pretty product. No seams. Ships flat in between thick cardboard. Other sizes and backed sheets are available. A great alternative to natural Birdseye Maple for cost and consistency. About pictures : Most pictures have been temporarily wet with denatured alcohol on the lower portion of the veneer to show what the grain may look like when finish is added. Color adjustments may have been made to show the color as true as possible. A lot of time and effort is spent on picturing accurately.
