E Zhu, Zedoary (Curcuma Zedoaria) is species of monocotyledonous herbaceous plants of the genus Turmeric of the Ginger family (Zingiberaceae). The plant comes from India and Indonesia. It is cultivated in South China, India, Java and Thailand. The plant reaches 1.5 meters in height. The leaves are up to 80 cm long and have violet-brown veins extending from the axial vein. The bracts are bright pink. The root is pear-shaped and no more than walnut in size.
