This Mezuzah is designed and manufactured by the Jerusalem Judaica artist Yair Emanuel. Emanuel's designs are based on the combination of classical and traditional motifs with a modern look and feel. The Mezuzah is made of durable lazer-cut metal featuring part of the “Shema Yisrael '' Prayer in Hebrew. ("Hear, O Israel: the L-RD our G-d, the L-RD is one"). Observant Jews consider the ‘Shema’ to be the most important part of the prayer service in Judaism. The top of the Mezuzah opens to insert a 12 cm (4.7 inch) scroll. Double-sided tape is glued to the back of the Mezuzah; the outside of the double-sided tape must be peeled off in order to stick the Mezuzah to the door frame.
