On offer is this lovely antique handmade wooden butter mold / butter press. This is the two-part, plunger style of mold where the design is impressed using the knobbed handle. The design here is reminiscent of the inner area of a sunflower - known as the 'disc floret'. It is likely of Pennsylvania Dutch origin. A beautiful handmade, chip-carved piece. In good antique condition but there are a few marks, a small chip on the knob, and minor splits in the wood; none of which take away from the beauty of the design, nor its function.
