The Columbia River Gorge, a secluded haven, lies at the end of a treacherous, moss-laden slot canyon. Intense storms, unprecedented rainfall, and gorge flooding from continuous rain provided an ideal opportunity for capture. The scene, filled with obstacles, demanded timing, persistence, and a touch of daring. Navigating upstream from the river's mouth was uncertain but necessary. Massive logjams and pools required wading chest-high. Gear protection was paramount. The only access was through narrow cliff walls, carrying gear overhead. Post-deluge, the sole vantage point was in the stream's center. As water rushed through, mist and rain obscured the camera. Adrenaline-fueled exposures, guided by instinct, captured the moment. Sunlight briefly illuminated canyon walls, adding a surreal, mystical touch. The scene evoked awe. What a location, what a challenge, what a shot!
