Beautiful Ornate Flowered Pitcher made by the Brooklyn Silver Company about the 1870's.
The pitcher is highlighted by embossed and engraved flower designs.
The pitcher has a rich gray patina and the surfaces under the patina are amazing for the age, with few or no polishing scratches.
The bottom is marked Brooklyn Silver Co Quadruple Plate with a model mark "129".
The pitcher is monogrammed GAR under the spout. There is an inventory number etched on the bottom of the pitcher and inside the lid near the hinge. "Erickson" is lightly scratched into the bottom rim.
The fan ornament on the lid is lightly bent. These ornamentations are usually made of a brittle cast metal, so I would not attempt to straighten it.
The pitcher measures about 13 inches tall and about 10 1/2 inches across the tip to handle.
This is a great example of the craftsmanship of the age with a beautiful design and great quality of preservation.
