■Werner Herzog■
Born in Germany in September 1942. He spent his childhood in southern Germany, moving around with his father, who was a freeter, and not knowing about telephones. He received the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for "The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser" (1974) and the Best Director Award for "Fitzcarraldo" (1982). He has also acted in films such as "Mister Lonely" (2006/directed by Harmony Korine), and directed numerous operas, including "Lohengrin" (performed at the Bayreuth Festival in 1998) and "Chushingura" (composed by Seiichi Saegusa, screenplay by Masahiko Shimada, 1997).

"Cobra Verde"
Early 19th-century Brazil. Cobra Verde becomes a supervisor of slaves, but is sent to Africa and eventually becomes a slave trader. When a revolution breaks out, he helps a prince and is awarded a medal, becoming the governor of Africa, but his glory does not last, and he eventually has a bounty placed on his head. A masterpiece by Herzog and Kinski, their last collaboration.

"Stroszek"
Stroszek, released from a Berlin prison, lives with a prostitute and an old man, but is threatened by the yakuza and goes to America. In a strange and unfamiliar land, the lives of the three begin to unravel. This is a unique work said to have influenced Ian Curtis, the vocalist of the rock band Joy Division, just before his death.

"Aguirre, the Wrath of God"
Based on a true story of a Spanish expedition seeking El Dorado in the Amazon in the 16th century. The expedition, crossing mountains and descending the Amazon River on rafts, is successively attacked by fever and attacks by Indians. Eventually, their food runs out, and the expedition collapses internally... You will be speechless at the intense performance of Klaus Kinski!
